Katherine Jeanne Steinhauer

Katherine Jeanne Steinhauer, age 93, of Versailles, IN passed away December 10, 2022, at Aspen Place in Greensburg, IN. Jeanne was born August 16, 1929, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of John and Gladys Whalen. She studied Nursing at Mercy Hospital and her career spanned nearly fifty years. Jeanne met and married Russ Steinhauer in 1951 and raised five children, Tamea Hewitt (Jerry), Theresa Brock (Ken), Ben Steinhauer (Linda), Bob Steinhauer (Jeanne), and John Steinhauer (Eileen). Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, baking, sewing, and traveling. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Russ in 1985 and will be missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews, along with anyone lucky enough to have met her. A funeral mass will be said in her memory on December 29 at 11:00 am at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 9375 Winton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231. The family extends their thanks and appreciation to Aspen Place for the compassionate care given to their mother.
