Kathie E. Sanders

Kathie E. Sanders, 64, of Versailles passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born at Madison on December 30, 1943 the daughter of Clyde and Lillian Cracraft Smith. She was married to Ray Sanders on February 14, 1988 and he survives. Other survivors include one son Kevin (Cindy) Oleckniche of Hamilton, Ohio; grandchildren Chad, Hope Grace, and Faith Oleckniche; step-sons Dennis (Lisa) Sanders and Mike (Evie) Sanders both of Versailles; step-daughters Linda (Charles) Shockey of Indianapolis and Patricia Renfro of Kentucky; one brother Leroy Smith of Morristown; sister-in-law Helen Smith of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Leon Smith, and her sister Joan Benham. Mrs. Sanders was currently employed with the Ripley County Clerk's office. She was retired from the ASCS office in Versailles and had also been employed with Empire Gas in Osgood. She was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25 at 11am at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Don Humphrey officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Thursday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
