Kathryn "Doodie" Davidson

**Kathryn "Doodie" Davidson**, 93, of Bloomington, formerly of Versailles passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Meadowood in Bloomington. She was born at Aurora on October 8, 1918 the daughter of Charles and Alice Tharp Klingelhoffer. She was married to Walter Davidson on December 31, 1942 and he preceded her in death on May 27, 1973. Survivors include one daughter Diana (Ron) McGovern of Bloomington; grandchildren Bill McGovern, Steve McGovern, and Dawn (Jim) Allen all of Bloomington. Mrs. Davidson was a 1936 graduate of Aurora High School and a 1940 graduate of the Indiana University School of Music. She taught music at Aurora and also at the Napoleon and Osgood Elementary Schools. She was a 50 year member of the Tyson United Methodist Church in Versailles and attended the Fairview United Methodist Church in Bloomington. She was also a member of the Ripley County Retired Teachers Association, the former Fortnightly Study Club in Versailles, and the Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher's Sorority. Kathryn was also a 75 year member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, she was also a member of the Versailles Legion Auxiliary. Her family would like to thank the staff at Meadowood Health Pavilion, IU Health Bloomington Hospital Hospice, and her caregiver, Jeanne from Home Instead for the loving care they provided for Doodie. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, May 15 at the Riverview Cemetery in Aurora with Rev. Mike Dixon of the Tyson United Methodist Church officiating. Memorials may be given to Special Olympics Indiana of Monroe County, Stone Belt ARC, or the Ripley County Heart Association all in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home at box 84, Versailles, IN 47042.
