Kathryn J. Manship, 88, of Osgood
passed away Monday,
January 9, 2012 at the home of her daughter near Commiskey. She was born near
Holton on July 26, 1923 the daughter of Ben and Bertha Schrader Fangman. She was
married to Leonard Manship on January 25, 1947 and he preceded her in death on
January 8, 2007. Survivors include three daughters Deldea Klueber of Terre
Haute, Germaine (Richard) Grapevine of Commiskey, and Mary Manship of
Versailles; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Manship was a 1941
graduate of Osgood High School, received her Bachelors degree from Indiana State
in 1945 and her Masters degree in education from Ball State in 1971. She was a
former educator having taught special education, speech, drama, and English in
Kokomo, New Point, Napoleon, and Holton over a span of 20 years. Kathryn was a
member of St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood and was a member and former
director for the Ripley County Historical Society. Mass of Christian Burial will
be held on Thursday, January 12 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood
with Father Shaun Whittington officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill
Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 6:45pm.
Memorials may be given to St. John's Catholic Church or the Ripley County
Historical Society in care of the funeral home.
