Kathy Yauger

Kathy Yauger, 75, of Versailles passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born near Cross Plains on January 30, 1937 the daughter of Ted and Marjorie Hankins Mathews. She was married to George Yauger on September 17, 1955 and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2001. Survivors include three daughters Gail (Gene) Cofield of Versailles, Barb (Tom) Winshurst of Florence, Kentucky, and Marty (Bill) McClain of Batesville; grandchildren Kelly Richmond of North Vernon, Chris (Whitney) Richmond of Versailles, Greg McClain of Indianapolis, and Katie Tabor of Florence, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Yauger was a 1955 graduate of Cross Plains High School. Kathy was a member of the Tyson United Methodist Church where she participated in the choir and the UMW and was also a member of the Ripley County Harmonettes. Mrs. Yauger was employed with the Cross Plains School as a secretary to the principal, the Cross Plains State Bank, and was also a teller with the Friendship State Bank retiring in 1991. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 17 at 11am at the Tyson United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Dixon officiating. Burial will be in the Cross Plains United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or the Tyson United Methodist Church Endowment Fund in care of the funeral home.
