Kim Tunny, 63, of Versailles passed away at 10:40pm Friday, December 25, 2015 at his home. He was born at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville on February 6, 1952 the son of Charles and Connie Payne Tunny. He was married to Kelly Decker on March 7, 1999 and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters Kerri Smith and Brandi Carroll both of Delaware; 8 grandchildren; two brothers Greg (Vickie) Tunny of Osgood and John Tunny of Columbus; one sister Sandra Ditka of Columbus; also his mother-in-law Betty Decker of Wilmington, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Nicholas who was killed in action in Vietnam. Mr. Tunny was a graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School and was a 30 year member of Pipefitters Local 597.
Kim was an adventurer who enjoyed skydiving and was also a skilled carpenter who did extensive woodworking. His greatest contribution to his friends and family was his belief in the power of prayer and his willingness to share his faith with all those who knew and loved him. Kim was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Osgood. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Thursday, December 31 at St. John Catholic Church in Osgood with Father Bill Turner officiating. Visitation will begin at 9am on Thursday at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 10:15am. Kim's wishes were to be cremated and burial will follow at a later date at the St. Maurice Cemetery in Napoleon. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
