Larry DeWire

Larry G. DeWire, 71, of Holton passed peacefully away at 6:50 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026 at his home and on the property that he loved with his family by his side. He was born in Greensburg on October 19, 1954, the son of Sidney and Edith Hughes DeWire. Larry married Sherry Ramey in Shelbyville on June 9, 1979 and she survives. Other Survivors include his daughter Jennifer Barrow of Shelbyville, son; Bleu (Eileen) of Holton, three grandchildren; Ashlyn, Molly, Levi “Leroy”, three sisters; Carol Ann Buchanan of Holton, Sandy Luke of Shelbyville and Kathy Heinzeman of Batesville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother James. Larry had a great deal of attributes and a few are: loved gardening, nature, old fashioned and being at home, quiet but gentle, funny, aggravated his family, smart, calculated and a big Trump supporter. He retired from Thomas and Skinner and was a member of the NRA. Larry cared ever so deeply for his loving wife and son but especially loved his grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 10:00am, Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at the Flat Rock Cemetery with Malvin McCullough officiating. Memorial may be made to the donor’s choice in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
