Larry G. Shaw, 59, of Madison, formerly of Ripley County passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2006 as the result of an auto accident south of Versailles. He was born at Muncie on November 6, 1947 the son of Arthur and Caroline Krick Shaw. He was married to Cherie Helton on November 16, 1987 and she survives. Other survivors include three sons, Larry Shaw, Jr. and his wife Christy of Louisville, Terry Shaw of Madison, and Gary and Wanda Shaw of Kent; two daughters Lori Walston and her husband Gary of Osgood, and Shellie and Jason Yorn of Sunman; three step-daughters, Michelle Atwell and her husband Tim of Milan, Paula and Shafter Bowling of Madison, Sherry and Jason Smith of Cross Plains; step-son Adam Fisher who is currently serving in Iraq; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four brothers, Daniel Shaw of Versailles, John Shaw of Bedford, Ky., Harold Shaw of Defiance, Ohio, and Lowell Shaw of Peoria, Ohio; four sisters, Sandy Smith of Versailles, Louise Tiesen and Betty Warner both of Adrian, Michigan, and Beverly Shaw of New Castle, Kentucky; step-father and mother-in-law Robert and Nettie Richmond of Moores Hill; brother-in-law Shawn Helton of Moores Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Richard Shaw and Robert Shaw. Mr. Shaw was a self-employed carpenter. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 14 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Robert Brigmon of the Trinity Christian Center in Lawrenceburg officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Trinity Christian Center in care of the funeral home.
