**Lawrence H. Granger**, 88, of Osgood passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at the home of his daughter near Deputy. He was born at Enochsburg Falls, Vermont on July 6, 1919, the son of Alfred and Aldea Pollender Granger. He was married to Matilda Corson on December 27, 1947 and she preceded him in death on May 23, 2004. Survivors include one daughter Kathy Hansen and her husband Kevin of Deputy; four sons, Dennis Granger and his wife Lisa of Huntsville, Texas, Kenneth and Janet Granger of Greenwood, Rick and Kathy Granger of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jack Granger of Milan; 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; his niece Jo Anne Hoover of Gilbert, South Carolina and nephew Ron Fell of Lexington, South Carolina. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers Louis and George Granger, and his sister Loretta Fell. Mr. Granger was an Army veteran of WWII where he served in Normandy and Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood and was a former Maintenance Supervisor for Crown Zellerbach in Greensburg. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 13 at 10am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Visitation will be from 9am until time of services. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home by the Osgood American Legion. Memorials may be given to the Ripley County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
