Lee McMinds, 88, of Holton passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. He was born in Anderson, Indiana on February 28, 1922 the son of Hamer and Lula Cook McMinds. He was married to Alice Kelley on April 2, 1942 and she preceded him in death on June 6, 2007. Other survivors include two daughters, Betty and Gerald (Skip) Randolph of Indianapolis, and Connie Kelley of Napoleon; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson. His parents, his wife and one daughter, Barbara Meyer in 1969, preceded him in death. Mr. McMinds was a 1940 graduate of Holton High School. He retired after 38 years at Arvin Industries in North Vernon. He was the oldest male member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. He also loved camping and Blue Grass Music.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 11am at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. David Shivers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6pm until 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Hopewell Baptist Church in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
