Leonard Manship, 84, of Osgood
passed away Monday,
January 8, 2007 at his residence. He was born at Clinton County, Indiana on
January 27, 1922 the son of Harry and Effie Robertson Manship. He was married to
Kathryn Fangman on January 25, 1947 and she survives. Other survivors include
three daughters, Kathryn Deldea Klueber of Terre Haute, Germaine Grapevine of
Commiskey, and Mary Manship of Osgood; five grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren. One brother Harry Manship of Kokomo and one sister Mabel
Yauger of Ossian. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers
Robert Manship and George Robertson. Mr. Manship was a 1940 graduate of
Russiaville High School and a 1945 graduate of Indiana State University. He
received his Masters Degree from Ball State University in 1970. He taught school
in Remington, Madison, and Shelbyville. He also had worked as an engineer for
Delco Radio in Kokomo and Campbell Hausfield in Harrison. He was a member of the
Osgood United Methodist Church, the Osgood Masonic Lodge, and the Ripley County
Historical Society. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the
family with burial following in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9
from 5pm to 7pm at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the
Ripley County Historical Society or the Ripley County Humane Society in care of
the funeral home.
