Leslie Wilson

December 21, 1923 — October 24, 2003

Leslie Wilson, 79, of Napoleon, passed away Friday, October 24, 2003 at his residence. He was born near New Marion on December 21, 1923, the son of Albert J. and Audrey Baker Wilson. He was married to Joyce Holzhause on March 18, 1949 and she survives. Other survivors include one son David Wilson and his wife Debbie of Osgood; grandchildren Jeff Wilson, Amber Wilson, Sherry Stagge, and Steve Koehne and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Karen, his brother Lloyd Wilson and his sister Joyce Bruce. Mr. Wilson was a 1942 graduate of Osgood High School and was a member of the St.John Lutheran Church in Napoleon. He was a farmer and along with his wife owned and operated Wilson's Saw Shop west of Napoleon since 1951. Mr. Wilson was in the Merchant Marines and served during WWII. Funeral services will be Monday, October 27 at 10:30am at the Stratton - Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Gary Groth of the St. John Lutheran Church in Napoleon officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, October 26 from 4pm to 7pm. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at Napoleon. Memorials may be given to the Church or to the Decatur County Hospice.
