Lillian Reda Peaslee, 89, of Versailles passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Ripley Crossing Health Center in Milan. She was born in Sparta, Indiana on September 21, 1921 the daughter of Floyd E. and Anna Pearl Taylor. She was married to George W. on March 27, 1940 and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1995. Other survivors include one son William Leonard "Bud" of Versailles; one daughter Georgia (George) Smith of Versailles; 2 grandchildren Brian (Tasha) Smith, Stacie (Jeffery) Cherry, both of Versailles; 1 great-grandson, Trenton Smith; and one sister, Sarah Truitt of Osgood. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers Warren and Melvin Taylor. Mrs. Peaslee was a member of the Pierceville United Methodist Church and had worked for the Ben Franklin in Milan for several years. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 15, 2011 at 10am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home with Rev. Harris Long and Rev. Jack Bible officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery in Elrod. Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Pierceville United Methodist Church, Sparta Cemetery or the Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
