Lonnie L. Adkins

April 20, 1927 — February 14, 1988

**Lonnie L. Adkins,** 75, of North Vernon, passed away Saturday November 30 at the St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon. He was born at Versailles on April 20, 1927, the son of Lawrence and Florence Kraut Adkins. He was married to Ruth Everett on July 12, 1974 and she preceded him in death on February 14, 1988. He is survived by his daughters Kathy Houser and her husband Luther of North Vernon, Debra Seeley and her husband Richard of Holton, sons Darrell Hodge and his wife Paula of Colorado, Matt Adkins of North Vernon, and Ronnie Adkins of Virginia; his brother Don Adkins of Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Terry, granddaughter Josie Rana Clayton, and his brother William. Mr. Adkins was a 1945 graduate of Versailles High School and a Navy veteran of WWII. He was retired from the Jefferson Proving Ground where he worked in demolition. He was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church and the Versailles American Legion, who will conduct military graveside rites. Funeral services will be Tuesday December 3 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Charles Cole officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 6pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the donors choice. Stratton Karsteter Funeral Home Versailles 689-1171
