Lovella "Lucille" Maxwell

Lovella "Lucille" Maxwell, 90, of Osgood passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. She was born at Delmar in Pulaski County, Kentucky on November 25, 1922 the daughter of Zeno and Clyda Floyd Sharp. She was married to James Dunagan on December 24, 1940 and he preceded her in death on September 16, 1958. In 1963 she married Harry Maxwell and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1997. Survivors include six sons Orville (Vickie) Dunagan of Madison, Hubert (Shirley) Dunagan of Whitehouse, Tennessee, James (Phyllis) Dunagan of Scipio, Farris (Judy) Dunagan and Larry (Connie) Dunagan both of Osgood, and Kurt (Melissa) Dunagan of Benham; two daughters Teresa (Garry) Ingram of Columbia City and Angela Dunagan of North Vernon; 22 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren; two brothers Ivan Sharp and James (Creta) Sharp both of Miamisburg, Ohio; two sisters-in-law Lois Sharp of Berne and Gladys Sharp of Boswell. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Roy, Ralph, and Parker Sharp. Mrs. Maxwell grew up in southern Kentucky where she learned to love cooking and canning at an early age. She also enjoyed her family, farming, gardening, and watching her hummingbirds. She retired in 1979 from the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center where she worked as a dietitian. Lovella was a member of the Osgood United Methodist Church and the Osgood-Versailles Chapter of the Eastern Star. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Ginny Hizer of the Osgood United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm with Eastern Star services to be conducted at 7:30pm. Memorials may be given to the Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Osgood United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
