Lucille M. Adams,
93, of Cross Plains
passed away Friday, September 6, 2013
at the Dillsboro Manor. She was born near Canaan in
Jefferson County on November 15, 1919 the daughter of
Joseph and Jesse Brooks Risk. On May 14, 1938 she was
married to Floyd Roscoe Eades and in 1958 she was married
to James L. Adams, both preceding her in death.
Survivors include one
son Donald (Barbara) Eades of Cross Plains; granddaughters
Karen (Mike) Feder and Laura (Chris) Hreno both of
Noblesville; great-grandchildren Trey and Avery Feder, and
Eli Hreno.
She
was also preceded in death by her parents, her son
Kenneth,
her
half-brother Victor Vanosdol, and her brother William
Edward Risk. Mrs. Adams attended the Benham School and was
a 1938 graduate of Cross Plains High School. She worked as
a surgeon's assistant at the Kings Daughters Hospital in
Madison and retired from the Muscatatuck State
Developmental Training Center in Butlerville where she
worked in the pharmacy. Lucille was a member of the Cross
Plains Church of Christ and enjoyed growing her flowers,
watching birds, traveling, and spending time with her
family.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September
at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral
Home with Rev. Scott Elston of the Hebron Baptist Church
officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery at Cross
Plains. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10am until time of
services. Memorials may be given to the Salem Cemetery in
care of the funeral home.
