Lucille Hoeferkamp, 91, of Versailles passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at her home. She was born at Friendship on January 9, 1920 the daughter of Arthur and Virgie Ellison Disbro.
She was married to Earl Hoeferkamp on July 31, 1937 and he preceded her in death on February 3, 1998. Survivors include four daughters Arlene (Jim) Evans and Norma (Terry) Woolum both of Versailles, Phyllis (John) Green of Cincinnati, and Sharon (Jerry) Benham of Aurora; 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sons Elvan and Irvin Hoeferkamp, her grandson Jeff Woolum, her brothers Charles Disbro and Arthur Disbro, Jr., and her sister Eleanora Morris.
Mrs. Hoeferkamp was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church and had worked as a cook at the Versailles Elementary School and also at the Silver Bell Nursing Home. Lucille was also a homemaker and had assisted her husband Earl in farming in the Versailles community their entire married life.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 16 at 11am at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Gideons or the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
