Mallie M. Ralston

Mallie M. Ralston, 87, of Versailles, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2003 at the Heritage House in Salem. She was born at East Enterprise, Indiana on August 18, 1916 the daughter of Louis and Myrtle Driver Lakeman and was married to Lawrence Ralston on February 24, 1940 and he survives. Other survivors include two sons, Doug Ralston and his wife Debbe of Lexington, Kentucky, Jim Ralston and his wife Linda of Salem; three grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Schmidt of Aurora and Janice Furnish of East Enterprise. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers James and Wilbur Lakeman. Mrs. Ralston was a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean. She was a 1934 graduate of Vevay High School and had formerly served as a 4-H leader in Brown Township. She was also a member of the Versailles Eastern Star and the County Home Ec Club. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 10 at 11am at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean with Rev. Marcus Felde officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 9 from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Pauls Improvement Fund in care of the funeral home.
