Margaret Daugherty

**Margaret Daugherty**, 81, of Dillsboro passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the home of her daughter near Cross Plains. She was born at New Point on March 13, 1925, the daughter of Francis and Fern Martin Barkley. She was married to Howard Daugherty on March 22, 1947 and he preceded her in death on December 17, 1989. Survivors include one son David Daugherty and his wife Diane of Osgood; two daughters, Donna Daugherty of Alabama and Dianna Smith and her husband Wayne of Cross Plains; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mabel Alice "Nan" Meadors of Morris and Maxine "Cennie" Obertate of Lawrenceburg, along with several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Daugherty was formerly employed with Romwebers in Batesville and had worked as an aide and cook at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was a member of the New Point Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22 at 10:30am at the Hopewell Baptist Church with John Hilbert, Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to Vista Care of Seymour in care of the funeral home.
