Marie F. Underwood

Marie F. Underwood, 77, of Correct passed away Thursday, June 9, 2005 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born near Cross Plains on April 7, 1928 the daughter of Arnold and Elnora Schwake Werner. She was married to Max Underwood on June 21, 1952 and he survives. Other survivors include two sons, Bruce Underwood and his wife Mary Jean Wiegert of Bellingham, Washington and David Underwood and his wife Julie of Correct; one daughter Amy Underwood Kot and her husband Mark Kot of Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Ryan and Dylan Underwood and Jessica and Stefanie Kot. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Gary Underwood. Mrs. Underwood was a 1946 graduate of Cross Plains High School, a homemaker, and a member of the Correct Homemakers Club. She was also a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Women of the ELCA. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 14 at 11am at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean with Rev. Marcus Felde officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, June 13 from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
