Marietta Hackman

Marietta Hackman, 93, of Osgood passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at Morning Breeze in Greensburg. She was born in Indianapolis on March 29, 1921 the daughter of Paul and Laura Allen Franklin. She was married to Walter "Babe" Hackman on May 3, 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 12, 1999. Survivors include two sons Jerry Hackman and Rick (Mary) Hackman both of Osgood; two daughters Sharon White of Granville, Ohio, and Christie (Dennis) White of Osgood; 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister Joan Hammon of Orlando, Florida. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Chelsa Hackman, her son-in-law Larry White, and her brothers Chuck Franklin, James Franklin, Paul Franklin, and Floyd Franklin. Mrs. Hackman was a 1939 graduate of Osgood High School. She was a homemaker and along with her husband owned and operated Hackman's Coin-O-Wash Laundromat in Osgood. Marietta was a member of the Osgood United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, and the Osgood American Legion Auxiliary. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the Greendale Cemetery in Osgood. Memorials may be given to the Osgood United Methodist Church or the Greendale Cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
