Marilyn A. Adams

Marilyn A. Adams, 76, of North Vernon passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. She was born in Indianapolis on July 17, 1937 the daughter of Clarence and Rhoda Baker Dilk. She was married to Grover Adams in 1978 and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1991. Survivors include one daughter Tonya Kelly of Indianapolis; three sons Wesley (Kelley) Roy of Cape Coral, Florida, Von Porter and friend Tammy Stewart of Noblesville, and Robert Porter of North Vernon; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; three brothers Robert Dilk and friend Alfreda White of North Vernon, William (Melba) Dilk of Indianapolis, and Richard (Darlea) Dilk of Camby. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Clarence Dilk, Jr., and Donald Dilk. Mrs. Adams was a former employee of the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center where she worked in maintenance. She had also worked for RCA in Indianapolis and at the North Vernon Wal-Mart. Marilyn attended the North Vernon First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 31 at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Marble Corner Cemetery at Versailles. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the Marble Corner Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
