Marilyn L. Browning,
79, of Versailles
passed away Wednesday,
June 17, 2015 at the home of her daughter. She was born at Milan
on January 6,
1936 the daughter of Edward and Marie Ebel Meisberger. Survivors
include two
daughters Carol (Carson) Lawless, and Susan Browning both of
Russell Springs, Kentucky;
two grandchildren Cristal (Terry) McClister and Justin Sullivan
both of Russell
Springs; two great-grandchildren Haley Cook and Ethan McClister;
two brothers
John Meisberger of Versailles and Robert Meisberger of Osgood;
two sisters
Sharon (Bill) Eckstein of Indianapolis, and Nancy Watson of
Greenwood; 9 nieces
and 6 nephews.
She was
preceded in death
by her parents, and her sisters Doris Meisberger, Janet Cooper,
and Mary Ann
Naugle. Mrs. Browning was a 1954 graduate of New Marion High
School. She
retired after 30 years with the Jefferson Proving Ground and had
also worked
seasonally at the Versailles State Park. Marilyn was a lifelong
member of the
St. Magdalene Catholic Church in New Marion, a member of the
Ripley County Red
Hatters, and also belonged to the former Versailles Vigorous
Volksmarchers. Mass
of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 22
at 11am at St.
John Catholic Church in Osgood with Father John Geis
officiating. Burial will
be in the St. Magdalene Cemetery at Madison. Visitation will be
on Monday from
9am to 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in
Versailles. Memorials
may be given to the St. John Catholic Church in care of the
funeral home.
