Mark L. Core

Mark L. Core, 65, of Dewberry passed away at 12:40 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2026 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on October 9, 1961, the son of Frank and Mary Jane Hayes Core. He was married to Janice Laker on June 15, 2002 and she survives. Other survivors include three sons Nick Core of Aurora, Matt (Michelle) Clark of Dillsboro, and Andrew Clark of Aurora; three daughters Cierra Core of Milan, Amber (Spencer) Braley of Versailles, and Samantha Clark of Richmond; 9 grandchildren; one brother Dave Core of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Phil, Randy, and Dan Core. Mark worked as an independent truck driver and for 15 years was the manager of the Goodyear store in Batesville. He attended the Bridge of Hope Worship Center. Mark’s wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Memorials for Mark may be given to the Switzerland County Humane Society, St. Judes, or the Bridge of Hope in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.
