Martha Hartwell

**Martha Hartwell**, 84, of Osgood passed away Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Ontario County Health Care Facility in Canadaigua, New York. She was born near Napoleon on July 4, 1922 the daughter of Herman and Sena Klingworth Huffmeyer. She was married to George Hartwell on May 20, 1961 and he preceded her in death on January 17, 1997. Survivors include one daughter Dianna Gregg and her husband Donald of Canadaigua, New York; grandchildren Elizabeth, Sean, and Evan Gregg; two brothers, Calvin Huffmeyer of Batesville and Kenneth Huffmeyer of Osgood; one sister, Elnora Vanosdol of Elmira, New York. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Norman Huffmeyer, and her sisters Mabel Lauber, Helen Schulenberg, and Mildred Ollar. Mrs. Hartwell was a 1941 graduate of Napoleon High School and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Napoleon. She was a homemaker and had worked with her husband in a tree trimming business throughout Ripley County. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 23 at 5pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Napoleon with Pastor Gary Groth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3pm until time of services at the church. Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church or Focus on the Family in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
