Marvin Downey

**Marvin Downey**, 52, of Holton passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007 at the St. Vincent Jennings Community Hospital in North Vernon. He was born at Batesville on April 30, 1955 the son of Thomas and Dixie Renfro Downey. He was married to Darla Bustle on November 13, 1978 and she survives. Other survivors include four sons, Thomas Downey of Cross Plains, Billy Downey of Versailles, and Jeff and Ryan Downey both of Holton; one sister Beverly Austin and her husband Bobby of St. Cloud, Florida; two brothers, Doug Downey and his wife Karen, and Randy Downey all of Holton; his mother-in-law Norma Hopper of Versailles. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Downey was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church and a 1973 graduate of South Ripley High School. He had been employed as a tractor mechanic at Wood Farm Supply in Versailles for 30 years. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 28 at 11am at the Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Holton Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
