Marvin Howard Hankins

**Marvin Howard Hankins** was born June 24th, 1940 in Cross Plains, Indiana and departed this life Feb 7th, 2007. He was the son of William Howard Hankins and Lillian (Shook) Hankins who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 41 years LaVerne (Vestal) Hankins of Hanover, Indiana; one daughter, Marla Hankins of North Vernon, Indiana; one son Shawn Hankins of Hanover, Indiana; one granddaughter, Kylee Smith of North Vernon, Indiana; one brother, William Hankins and wife Carolyn of Cross Plains, Indiana; two nephews Michael Hankins of Carmel, Indiana and Mark Hankins of Moorefield, Indiana; and several cousins. Marvin worked for the State Highway Department in Versailles, Indiana for ten years and Cross Plains Elementary School as a janitor and bus driver. He was a member of the Cross Plains Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Visitation will be at Stratton-Karsteter funeral home in Versailles on Friday February 9th from 4-7 p.m. and Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Saturday February 10th at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Salem Cemetery in Cross Plains immediately following the service. Memorials may be donated to the Salem Cemetery fund, cards will be available at the funeral home.
