Marvin L. Myers, 74, of Deputy passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Hanover Nursing Center. He was born at Anderson on November 1, 1935 the son of Stanley and Edna Mae Henderson Myers. He was married to Sue Carroll McClammer on September 17, 1955 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons Reese (Mickey) Myers of Columbia City and Darren (Brenda) Myers of Scottsburg; two daughters Cheryl (Steve) Althoff of Cross Plains and Kelly (Ronnie) Hatcher of Wilkinson; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one sister Bonnie (Carl) Crull of Pendleton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Marilyn. Mr. Myers was a 1954 graduate of Pendleton High School. He was a 35-year employee of the Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis where he worked in quality control retiring in 1992. He was a member of UAW post 1111 and also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He will be particularly well-remembered for his remarkable sense of humor and his abiding love for Christ. His family would like to say thank you to everyone that visited him or prayed for him during his illness. The family would also like to say thank you to Dr. Totten and all the nurses and CNAs at Hanover Rehabilitation Center for all of your kindness and help during our time of preparing for the loss of our loved one. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 21 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Randy Thieman officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery at Olean. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11am until time of services. Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
