Mary Louise Gunter

Mary Louise Gunter, 88, of Holton passed away Friday, August 20, 2004, at her residence in Holton. She was born in Lebanon, Kentucky on January 29, 1916, the daughter of James and Berthinee Lanom Simpson. She was married to Charles Gunter on August 11, 1934, and he precedes her in death. Mrs. Gunter's survivors include four sons: Roy of Holton, Willis of Butlerville, Gene of North Vernon, and Ray of Holton; three daughters: Lonnie Tyler of Holton, Susan Rice of Holton, and Brenda Sandlin of Butlerville; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gunter was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons Robert, James, Charles, Daniel, and her daughter, Linda Hurst, six brothers, two sisters, one grandchild, and one great-grandchild. She was a member of the Holton Wesleyan Church. Mrs. Gunter was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 23 at 10:30 am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 22 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Holton Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
