Mary Elizabeth Mitchell

Mary Elizabeth Mitchell, 81, of Moores Hill, formerly of Osgood, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the home of her daughter in Moores Hill. She was born at Franklin, Kentucky on July 16, 1922 the daughter of Roy and Audrey Hargis Anderson. She was married to Bert Mitchell on March 14, 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1996. Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker. She is survived by five sons, Walter "Bud" Mitchell and his wife Julie of Elgin, South Carolina, Lonnie Mitchell and Mary of Lawrenceburg, IN, Vic Mitchell of Zephyr Hills, Florida, Edward Mitchell and Debbie of Rising Sun, IN, and Nolan Mitchell of LaCanto, Florida; five daughters, LaMona West, Joyce West and her husband Ray all of Osgood, Judy Hargrove of Lake Stevens, Washington, Janine Frey and Toby of Moores Hill, and Faith Mitchell of Marysville, Washington; 38 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren; one brother, Ashley Anderson; Sister-in-law Wilma Anderson of Mooresville, IN. and Myrtle Ann of New Palestine, IN. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Clinton Mitchell and Marty Mitchell and her brothers Marshall and Eldon Anderson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 17 at 10:30 am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Anthony Kasper officiating. Burial will be in the Greendale Cemetery at Osgood. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 16 from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be made to the Mesothelioma Foundation or the Moores Hill Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
