Mary C. Salyers

Mary Salyers, 85, of Holton passed away at 11:45am, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born at Jackson, Kentucky on January 26, 1932 the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Barltett Cole. She was married to Paul Salyers on November 22, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2002. Survivors include her grandchildren Angie (Larry) Bilbrey of Columbus, Ohio, Donna (Eric) Bourke, Rob (Julie) Booster, and Roxanne (Jim) Poling all of Noblesville; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister Bertie Myers of Greenwood. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughters Pamela Salyers and Belinda Booster; her sister Dorothy Poynter, and her brothers Seldon, Price, Edwin, Everett, Clarence, Raymond, and Dorsey Cole. Mrs. Salyers was retired from the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center. Her hobbies included gardening, playing bingo and euchre, and entertaining. Mary was a member of the Dabney Baptist Church and the Versailles American Legion Auxiliary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21 at 12pm at the Dabney Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am on Friday. Memorials may be given to the Dabney Baptist Church or the Holton Cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
