Maxine L. Creigmile, 73, of Versailles passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. She was born at Pierceville on January 16, 1940 the daughter of Elza and Ida Meyer Cash. She was married to Kenneth Creigmile on January 3, 1959 and he survives. Other survivors include two sons Jeff (Cindy) Creigmile of Centerville, and Steve Creigmile of Versailles; two daughters Julie (Mark) Franklin of Holton, and Cathy Creigmile of Florence, Kentucky; six grandchildren Adam Creigmile of St. Cloud, Florida, Brian Baugh of Bridgetown, Ohio, Caleb Creigmile with the United States Marines stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Isaac and Jacob Creigmile both of Centerville, and Ashlinn Hubbard of Florence, Kentucky; 3 great-grandchildren; one sister Betty Myers of Aurora. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Earl Cash.
Mrs. Creigmile was raised in Osgood and was a 1958 graduate of Osgood High School. She received her degree from Marian College and was a registered nurse for 20 years working at Muscatatuck and also the Decatur County Hospital. She was also an avid bird watcher and had attended bird watching gatherings in Tennessee and New York. Maxine was a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 29 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Don Buck of the Osgood First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Tanglewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the Tanglewood Cemetery or Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.
