Maxine Liming

Maxine Liming, 90, of Versailles passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at her residence. She was born at Brookville on February 21, 1916 the daughter of Emmett and Louella Freeland Logan. She was married to Alfred (Newt) Liming on January 31, 1942 and he preceded her in death on March 11, 1980. Survivors include one son John Liming and his wife Debbie of Versailles; grandsons Brian Liming and his wife Sandy, Greg Liming and his wife Crystal all of Dillsboro, and Jason Liming and his wife Sara of Holton; seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Liming was a 1934 graduate of Springfield High School in Franklin County and graduated from Miami University in 1939. She taught school in Middletown, Ohio and did substitute teaching in Versailles. She, along with her husband, operated Liming's Tree Farm in Ripley County, which in 1982 provided the Christmas tree for the governor's mansion in Indianapolis. Mrs. Liming was a member of the Tyson United Methodist Church and the Delta Rho Chapter of Tri-Kappa. Funeral services will be held Friday, November at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. James Byerly of the Tyson United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Brookville. Visitation will be Friday from 11am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Tyson United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
