Melody G. Arney

Melody G. Arney, 60, of Versailles passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. She was born at Madison on November 23, 1950 the daughter of Gayle and Joan Daily Geisler. She was married to Jim Arney on April 17, 1971 and he survives. Other survivors include her mother Mrs. Joan Geisler of Versailles; two sons Steve (Cassandra) Arney of Versailles and Bill (Susan) Arney of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren Megan, Kendall, and Abby; one sister Lynn (Charles) Baurley of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her father. Melody was a 1968 graduate of South Ripley High School. She was a Program Technician for the Ripley County Farm Service Agency in Versailles and was a former employee of the Bank of Versailles and Berry Materials. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 11 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. James Byerly of the Tyson United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Garden near Madison. Visitation will be Monday from 4pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the New Marion Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
