Michael Lee Ellis

Michael Lee Ellis, 64, of Versailles passed away at 8:15am, Monday, March 9, 2020 at his home. He was born in Terre Haute on February 16, 1956 the son of Paul and Lucille Stockwell Ellis. He was married to Paula McWethy on November 6, 1993 and she survives. Other survivors include one step-son Andrew (Kelly) Heine of Greendale; one step-daughter Jennifer (Donnie) Bovard of Rising Sun; grandchildren Abby, Lizzy, Kinzee, Kelsi, Maggie, Olivia, Nya, Meghan, and Jacob; two brothers Benny (Connie) Ellis of Peru, and Paul (Fifi) Ellis of Chesterton; three sisters Penny (Terry) Dowell of Worthington, Susie (Bill) Hooker of Linton, and Tammy (Danny) Davenport of Terre Haute. He was preceded in death by his parents. Michael was a Journeyman Lineman for several years, belonging to IBEW 1393 in Indianapolis. He also enjoyed woodworking and for many years he and Paula did professional furniture re-finishing. Along with his family Mike's Jack Russell Petey was also a faithful companion. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 11am at the Shelby Christian Church near Versailles with Mike's brother-in-law Pastor Terry Dowell officiating. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
