Michael Ray Sproessig, 38, of Versailles passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was born at Batesville on February 4, 1972 the son of Richard and Patricia McConnell Sproessig. He was married to Eryn Milligan on March 22, 2008 and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughter Ashtyn Sproessig and his son Hunter Jerald Brandon Sproessig; parents Richard and Patricia Sproessig of Versailles; his father and mother-in-law Ron and Lisa Milligan of Westport; his maternal grandmother Emma McConnell of Pierceville; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Chester and Flora Sproessig and his maternal grandfather Hugh McConnell.
Mr. Sproessig was a 1990 graduate of South Ripley High School. He was a member of Carpenters Local 1142 in Greensburg and had completed the four year carpenter's apprentice course at Washington. He was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 20 at 11am at the Holton United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Hadley officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Thursday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Holton United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
