Mildred E. "Betty" Lowe

Former Ripley County resident Mildred E. "Betty" Lowe passed away at 5:15am, Monday, December 2, 2019, two days before her 97th birthday at the Swiss Villa in Vevay. She was born near Quercus Grove in Switzerland County on December 4, 1922, the daughter of William Hubert and Grace Wilson Lowe. She is survived by her niece Joyce Lowe Dwulet of Greenwood, and nephews Jerry Lowe of Bloomington, and William, David, and Michael Lowe of Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers William Lowe and Walter Lowe. Ms. Lowe was a 1940 graduate of Versailles High School and was a member of the Tyson United Methodist Church in Versailles. Betty was handicapped early in life and the Swiss Villa in Vevay had been her home for the last 15 years. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 6 at 2pm at the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery or the Tyson United Methodist Church in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
