Myrtle S. Schneider

**Myrtle S. Schneider**, 93, of Osgood, passed away Wednesday, November 05, 2003 at her residence. She was born near San Jancinto in Jennings County on November 4, 1910, the daughter of Claremore and Elizabeth Walton Stout. She was married to Abe Schneider on June 15, 1935 and he survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Sherrill Chedah and her husband Karl Jaffary of Toronto, Canada, Marcia Whisman and her husband John of Columbus, and Kathie L. Johnson of Indianapolis; one son, Ralph Schneider and his wife Pat of Osgood; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; one sister Hazel Stoultz of North Vernon. She was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. Mrs. Schneider was a 1928 graduate of Butlerville High School and along with her husband owned and operated Schneider's Scrap Metal in Osgood since 1941. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Osgood United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Don Buck officiating. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Decatur County Hospice or to the Gideons.
