Nadah Holman, 81, of Versailles passed away Monday, October 3, 2005 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born at Oolitic, Indiana on January 3, 1924 the daughter of A. J. and Huldah Edens Meadows. She was married to Kenneth Holman on February 14, 1942 and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Diane Meisberger and her husband John of New Marion and Ellen Baugh and her husband Lester of Seymour; four grandchildren, Stacy Holdsworth and her husband Brian of Zionsville, Jason Meisberger and Becky of Greenwood, Kara Patrick and Derek of Seymour, and Kristen Baugh of Bloomington; one great-granddaughter Jocelyn Holdsworth; two sisters Doris Murray of Brownsburg and Ilene King of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers John and Virgil Meadows, and her sisters Donetta Heacock, Rosamond Waters, Lucille Newhart, and Lorene Ehlers.
Mrs. Holman was a 1942 graduate of Holton High School and was a member of the Shelby Christian Church. She had formerly worked at a canning factory in Sheridan and was a cook at Madison State Hospital. She had also been employed with Conn Organ and Maucher Real Estate. She enjoyed reading and cross words. Her family enjoyed her baking specialties of breads and cobblers. She was a seasoned gardener and canned or froze the harvest to share with family and friends. She loved quilting and made them for all of her children and grandchildren and later in life enjoyed bird watching. She touched many with her love and talents.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with Bro. Earl Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 5 from 5pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Shelby Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Jennings County Hospice.
