**Naomi Baker**, 82, of Versailles passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born near Versailles on August 2, 1930 the daughter of William and Lillian Aikins Thomas.
She was married to Hiram Baker on November 8, 1952 and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2010. Survivors include one son Ken (Kim) Baker of Aurora; two grandchildren Phillip (Erin) Baker of Connersville, and Emily (Corey) McDarmett of Madison; great-grandchildren Riley Baker, and Chase, Grady, and Payton McDarmett. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Betty Monroe.
Mrs. Baker was a 1948 graduate of Versailles High School and also the Indiana Beautician College in Indianapolis. She was a self-employed beautician and had operated shops in Milan and Versailles. Naomi was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21 at 11am at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Cantrell officiating. Visitation will also be Friday at the church beginning at 9am. Memorials may be given to the Versailles Baptist or the Wounded Warrior Project in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.
