Naomi Strimple, 95, of Osgood passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. She was born near Versailles on January 11, 1916 the daughter of Harrison and Mabel Warfield Courtaney. She was married to Hoover Strimple on February 15, 1936 and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1992. Survivors include two daughters Kay (Mike) Wells of South Bend and Mary Lou Mosier of Osgood; three sons Don Strimple of Versailles, Wayne (Janet) Strimple of Aurora, and Rex (Brenda) Strimple of Holton; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; one brother Gene (Phyllis) Courtaney of West Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Patsy Asche, and her sister Beatrice Oldham. Mrs. Strimple was a 1934 graduate of Versailles High School. She was a homemaker and had worked as a cook in the Jac-Cen-Del schools. Naomi was a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church and the Versailles Eastern Star. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 20 at 2pm at the Tanglewood Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Stephens officiating. Burial will be in the Tanglewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 1pm until time of services Thursday at the church. The Versailles Eastern Star will conduct services at 7:30pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Tanglewood Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
