Neva V. Rea, 85, of Dabney passed away Friday, November 11, 2005 at her residence. She was born near Versailles on April 6, 1920 the daughter of Marshall and Estelle Fox Jackson. She was married to Raymond Laswell on August 19, 1938 and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1943. She was married to Wilcie Rea on June 6, 1953 and he survives. Other survivors include one son Rev. Mearl Laswell and his wife Beverly of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; two daughters, Marilynn Adams and her husband Bob of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Myrna Cox and her husband Doug of Holton; six grandchildren, Dana Naugle, Kara Ahrens, Kendra Eden, Katy Laswell, Chris Cox, and Kassey Cox; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Willard Jackson of Versailles, Kenneth Jackson of Osgood, Hubert Jackson and his wife Eva of Versailles, and Marion Jackson and his wife Jaleh of Terre Haute. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ruth Carter and Margaret Jobst, and her grandson Doug Laswell. Mrs. Rea was a homemaker and a member of the Dabney Baptist Church and the Riley Cheer Guild. She was a former employee of the Delaney Wood Heel Factory in Versailles. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15 at 10:30 am at the Dabney Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Cole and Rev. Mearl Laswell officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, November 14 from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Dabney Baptist Church building fund or the Hospice of the Margaret Mary Hospital.
