Norma Jean (Jeanie) Huelson Evans

Norma Jean (Jeanie) Huelson Evans, 68, of Seymour, formerly of Versailles, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at her home. She was born at Batesville on December 14, 1941 the daughter of Norman and Rebecca Belew Huelson. She was married to Ronald Evans on May 28, 1960 and he survives. Other survivors include three daughters Belinda (John) Lawburgh of Holton, Joanna (Mike) Sawalich of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and Angela (Mark) Sadler of Indianapolis; one son Eric Evans of Seymour; 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters Jayne (Wayne) Williams of Scottsburg and Judy (Chris) Hassfurder of Madison; step-mother Wanda Huelson of Versailles; three step-brothers Jeff (Jennifer) Fields of Hereford, Arizona, Todd (Tricia) Fields of Liberty, and Scott (Denise) Fields of New Marion; four step-sisters Jackie (Jerry) Flannery of Batesville, Robin (Bill) Cannarito and Marsha (Bruce) Spivey both of Napoleon, and Jodee (Bruce) Coy of Versailles; brother-in-law Jim (Arlene) Evans of Versailles, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nephews and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and her father and mother-in-law Ralph (Whit) and Mabel Evans. Jeanie was a 1960 graduate of Versailles High School and was a member of the Fellowship of Jackson County Clergy and the Brownstown Ministerial Association. She was a wonderful devoted wife and mother who loved teaching her children about the beauty of the world around her. She also had obtained her personal pilot license and was very proud of that accomplishment. Most recently, she was Co-Pastor with her husband Ron at Seymour Family Worship Center. Her passion to spread the love of God was evident to all she came in contact with. She demonstrated her devotion in many ways; playing flute in church, involvement in community and church organizations, short term mission trips to Africa and Bolivia; but most recently in her everyday life, even to the very end of her battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 30 at 11am at the CI Family Worship Center at 2327 E County Road 250 S near Versailles. The services will be officiated by Apostle Leon Walters, and Pastors Mike Sawalich and Brad Napier. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery at Olean. Visitation will be Sunday from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Seymour Family Worship Center or the Schneck Medical Center Hospice in care of the funeral home.
