Ola Vae Simon, 65, of Osgood passed away Thursday, August 18, 2005 at her residence. She was born March 13, 1940 at Line Fork in Letcher County, Kentucky the daughter of Lou and Arnie Caudill Roark. She was married to Donald Simon on August 13, 1958 and he survives. Other survivors include three sons, James Simon and his wife Cindy, Wayne and Brenda, and Vincent and Krystal all of Osgood; five daughters Karen Carroll and her husband H.B., Shirley England all of Osgood, Donna Sparks and Lonnie of Holton, Barbie Bultman and Ryan of Greensburg, and Dana and Mark Montgomery of Aurora; five brothers Harley Roark and Jim Roark both of Holton, John Roark of Greensburg, Joe Roark of Osgood, and Mark Roark of Whitesburg, Kentucky; half-brother Richard Leach of Madison; five sisters Anna Mae Ahaus of Guilford, Eula Sizemore of Madison, Bonnie Kieffer and Georgia Sparks both of Osgood, and Thelma Osborne of East Enterprise; four half-sisters Lola Woods and Bonita Halcomb both of Kentucky, Tina Wingate of Pleasant, and Martha Hammond of Canaan; 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Chelsa Simon and her sister Dana Craig. Mrs. Simon was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 23 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood with Fr. Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 7:30pm. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
