Paul "P.R." Buchanan

Paul "P.R." Buchanan, 70, of Versailles passed away Friday, July 13, 2007 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born in Madison on January 28, 1937 the son of Raymond and Helen Buchanan. He was married to Tina Jones and she survives. Other survivors include four sons, Jeff and his wife Tracy of Madison, Tony, Casey and Cody, all of Versailles, two daughters; Andrea Richter and her husband Phil of Versailles, Carly, of Versailles, one brother, Jim and one sister Mary Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Charles Atlas, one grandson, Brandon and two brothers. Mr. Buchanan enlisted in the United States Marine Corp one week before he would have graduated high school. He served in the Marine Corps from 1956 and discharged as a corporal in 1959. He was a proud member of the Versailles American Legion Post #173 and a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood. He retired from the Interstate Brands Corporation (Butternut Bread) after thirty years of employment with them. Memorial services will be held at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles on Wednesday, July 18th, 2007 at 11:00am with full military honors being conducted by the Versailles American Legion Post #173. Memorials may be given to the Versailles American Legion in care of the funeral home.
