Paul Hollandsworth, 75, of Sumter, South Carolina passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at the Toumey Hospital in Sumter. He was born at Erlanger, Kentucky on March 3, 1930 the son of Daniel and Dorothy Wilson Hollandsworth. He was married to Edythe Franklin of Holton on December 22, 1951 and she survives. Other survivors include two sisters, Helen Shockley of Erlanger and Ruth Barlow of Florence, Kentucky. Mr. Hollandsworth was a 28 year Air Force veteran where he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. He served in various places throughout the world including Texas, Nevada, Nebraska, South Carolina, Florida, England, Japan, and Vietnam. He was a member of the Hillcrest Masonic Lodge in Dalzell, South Carolina and the Columbia, South Carolina Consistory Scottish Rite.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22 at 10am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Bob Harting of the First Baptist Church in Osgood officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 6pm to 8pm with Masonic services at 7:30pm. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Crippled Childrens Home in care of the funeral home.
