Pauline L. Smith

**Pauline L. Smith**, 86, of Benham, formerly of Cross Plains, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008 at her home. She was born in Switzerland County on June 2, 1922 the daughter of Henry and Mary Knollman Iceberg. She was married to Ervin Smith on June 6, 1942 and he preceded her in death on December 4, 1979. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Demaree of Versailles and Marsha (Gordon) Jones of Ft. Mill, South Carolina; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Gary, her sister Irene Iceberg, and her brothers Harold, Leslie, and Melvin Iceberg. Mrs. Smith was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dewberry. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in farming. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December at 11am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dewberry with Pastor Ralph Campen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
