Philip E. Leach, 75, of Holton passed away at 2:45 am Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Manderley Health Care in Osgood. He was born in Bedford, Kentucky on July 21, 1940 the son of Arthur and Mildred Kidwell Leach. Philip married Jane Hoffmeier in Rexville, Indiana on December 15, 1963 and she survives. Other survivors include one son; Edgar of Madison, two daughters; Phyllis Hodapp (Jeff Smith) of Correct and Tonya (Roy) Fields of Holton; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; two sisters; Evelyn Bassett of Phoenix, Arizona and Ila (Dick) Tankersly of Pleasant; sisters in law Gladys Hoffmeier of Madison, and Virginia Leach of Austin; one foster brother Tim Atkins, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Virginia Williams, Leora Penick, and Mamie Brinson and his brothers Leon (Bud) and Glen. Mr. Leach retired after 36 years at Reliance in Madison. Philip attended Westfork Baptist Church as a youth. Funeral Service will be 2:00pm Monday, August 24, 2015 with visitation prior to the service from 12:00 noon until time of service. Burial will follow in the Grandview Memorial gardens in Madison, Indiana. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
