Ralph W. Ferguson, 75, of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, formerly of Versailles, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2007 at the Highland Springs Nursing Home in Ft. Thomas. He was born at Versailles, Indiana on August 1, 1932 the son of Charles and Clara Beesley Ferguson. He was married to Betty Gatliff on December 23, 1951 and she preceded him in death on September 17, 2001. Survivors include two sons, Timothy Ferguson of Independence, Kentucky, and Todd Ferguson of Cincinnati; one daughter Tammy Aguliar of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Heather, Lauren, Christina, and Emily. Mr. Ferguson was a 1950 graduate of Versailles High School and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Tyson United Methodist Church in Versailles and the Versailles American Legion. He had bred, raised, and shown quarter horses and was a former US National Champion. He had also, along with his parents and wife, owned and operated Ferguson's Country Store on the Court House Square in Versailles, which was in business from 1927 until 1982. Mr. Ferguson and his wife had also operated Front Door Antiques in Versailles for several years. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 16 at 2pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Jerry Zehr of the Florence Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery at Versailles with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Visitation will be Thursday from 1pm until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
