Ralph E. Tebbing, 84, of Olean passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at his home. He was born near Olean on June 4, 1928 the son of William and Ada Ehlers Tebbing. He was married to Ruth Droege on June 10, 1961 and she survives. Other survivors include one son David (Carrie) Tebbing of Olean; one daughter Bonnie (Keith) Niehaus of Zionsville; grandchildren Amy and Sarah Niehaus and Leah Tebbing; step-grandchildren Kelsey and Amanda Cox; step-great-grandson Elliott Fruit; sister-in-law Doris (Karl) Droege of Olean. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ray Tebbing. Mr. Tebbing served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 with Battery A of the 738 Missile Battalion. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He worked for 38 years for Seagrams in Lawrenceburg retiring in 1994 and was also a farmer. Ralph was a member of the Versailles American Legion and a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Olean. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2 at 11am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Olean with Pastor Sue Socha officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery at Olean. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Improvement Fund or the Friendship Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
